Pregnancy Care

We know through lived experience that from the moment we are trying to conceive, we lose an element of control over our bodies. All kinds of things can crop up; an old injury re-appears, or a new condition or symptom that you may never have heard of emerges.

This can be anxiety-inducing but addressing symptoms early on to get an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan, can really help to empower you to feel more in control and able to enjoy transition into early motherhood and beyond.

Common pregnancy-related conditions I see: (of which 50% of women will experience at some point in pregnancy)

Pelvic girdle pain e.g. sacroiliac joint (SIJ) or symphysis pubis disfunction (SPD)

Back pain (upper, mid and low)

Sciatic pain (neural pain)

Rib pain

Hip pain

Pelvic floor dysfunction in pregnancy (e.g. stress urinary incontinence, prolapse)

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome

Treatment Options

During these sessions I will provide manual facial release (massage/gentle stretches), joint mobilizations, strength and mobility exercises to do at home, guidance on perineal massage, pelvic floor and breath awareness work. I can also measure for a support belt for pelvic pain relief to enable a more active pregnancy.  If you have any questions or queries about this appointment, please contact me here and we can chat.
